Connect & Commit hosts an after school Community Service-Learning Club as a means to disseminate information about upcoming community service opportunities and engage youth in organizing service activities for the larger school population.

The Club meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 in the library. At Club meetings, students will be able to learn about and sign up for upcoming service activities. Some opportunities have a limit on the number of participants, and students at Club meetings have the first chance to sign up for opportunities. The Club also features guest speakers, films, discussions and other activities to highlight different areas of community service and social issues. All WHS students are invited to come to Club meetings – there are no membership requirements, and you can come as often as you like.

Each year the Connect & Commit Club holds an election for leadership positions. The leadership positions are Co-Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer. These students will form the leadership team and provide meeting leadership and oversight of committees formed to plan and carry out Connect & Commit activities.

Connect & Commit also is developing a volunteer database to facilitate the connection between individuals’ interests and availability and current and upcoming community service opportunities. To be entered into the database, please fill out and email or hand in a Student Volunteer Interest Form. These forms allow you to be contacted if service opportunities which fit your interests and availability. You are under no obligation to participate in an activity if you are contacted with an opportunity.
