BookFair
by BookEnds
McCall's annual book fair takes place the week of parent conferences in October from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Library.
Literary
Lunches
Gerry Driscoll, McCall Middle School's former librarian, began this intergenerational
program in 1995. Each month a new book is selected. Sixth grade students and
senior citizens from the nearby Jenks Senior Center read the book and then
get together to discuss it over lunch. The librarian, in collaboration with
the English teachers, prepare questions to aid the discussion among the two
groups.

Festival
of Life
Students from
McCall Middle school join seniors from the Jenks center for a holiday luncheon
and caroling. This intergenerational program is supported by Winchester Co-Operative
Bank and the Council on Aging.
Homework Club
Homework club
is held in the library every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:15 until
3:15.
Book Club
The objective of the McCall Middle School Book Club is
to help update the library collection and fill the shelves of the library
with as many new books as possible. Books can be purchased in honor of students,
in memory of loved ones, as a gift to the library in the name of a teacher,
or for any reason at all! To join the book club simply fill out the form (accessible
below) and choose a book from the list of approved titles (also accessible
below) or make a suggestion of your own. After making your selection, return
the form along with $15.00 to the library. Once the book is purchased, a dedication
plate will be placed in the front cover of the book, and the student will
be the first to borrow the book from the library before it is permanently
placed on the library shelves.
